Session Flow:¶
1. Welcome and Opening Reflection (10 minutes)¶
Key Points to Emphasize:
- Introduce the focus of this final session: how to live a service-centered life, aligning daily actions with God’s calling.
- Reinforce that serving others isn’t just about large ministries—it’s about daily acts of love and service, no matter how small.
Opening Prayer:
- Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as participants reflect on their next steps, asking for clarity in how to incorporate service into their everyday lives.
Scripture to Read Aloud:
- James 2:14-17: Faith without works is dead—what good is it if we have faith but do not show it in our actions?
- Matthew 20:26-28: Jesus’ call to be a servant to all, as He came to serve, not to be served.
2. Teaching: Integrating Faith and Service (20 minutes)¶
Key Teaching Points:
- What is a service-centered life?: It is a life that reflects Christ’s love through practical actions of service, big and small. Our faith becomes visible when we actively serve others (James 2:17).
- Service in everyday life: You don’t need a grand ministry to serve others. Acts of service can be as simple as showing kindness, meeting a need, or sharing the Gospel with someone in your everyday life (Colossians 3:23-24).
- Sustaining a service-centered life: Practical ways to ensure your life stays focused on service—whether through prayer, accountability, or consistent reflection on Christ’s example (Matthew 25:35-40).
Scripture Focus:
- Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
- Galatians 6:9-10: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Illustration:
- Share the story of Dorcas (Acts 9:36-42), a disciple known for her service and good works, who was raised from the dead by Peter because her ministry was so impactful to her community.
